Non-profits that want United States postage

The list will be re-shuffled every time this website is re-built. The non-profit organizations listed here can use up your postage stamps on their outgoing mail. Their needs may change over time, so visit their website for details on what they want. Non-profits that want donations of postage should have a link saying “Donate Postage” on their home page or on the landing page of their “Donate” link. Obviously we cannot give tax advice.

Discount postage involves labor and makes mail look different. Using discount postage may increase a charity’s response rate, because addressees who want to save the stamps for a collector, or to donate to charity, have to rip the envelope, and few persons are in the habit of ripping an envelope without opening it. So more envelopes will be opened that would otherwise have been discarded unopened. Separating the stamps into strips of three 13¢ and pairs of 4¢ to make 47¢ can save your favorite non-profit precious time, but may make it tougher to count them if you need a tax receipt saying you “donated valid U.S. postage stamps totaling $470 face value for use as postage, with no philatelic premium.”
